San Luis Obispo Creative and Marketing Alliance
(SLOCAMA) welcomes interested graphic designers,
marketing professionals and web programmers to
their next meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, July
16th at 5:00pm. This month's featured speaker
is Dennis Clevenger of Clever Concepts and he will
speak on "How to Design for the Web".
Dennis Clevenger, founder of Clever Concepts, Inc.,
has over 12 years experience in web
development. His company specializes in
custom content management systems, e-commerce, and
web-based applications. Having worked with
many designers over the years and a fellow graduate
of Cal Poly's Graphic Communications program, he
has a flair for bridging the gap between technology
and design. Dennis will cover all of the
technical items designers should know when
designing for the web, including page dimensions,
methods to make pages easy to update and
search-engine friendly, development standards,
e-commerce and content management systems.
SLOCAMA endeavors to bring local communications
professionals together to collaborate on projects
and to offer a forum for networking and educational
seminars related to marketing.
Membership dues are $50 per year for individuals,
$35 for students and $150 for companies (cost
depends on number of memberships desired), and
includes upcoming mixers and educational seminars,
dates and topics to be announced. Meetings are on
the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30pm at Aspect
Media Factory. Interested parties may attend two
meetings before joining.
